#100550 - Any 8051 with UART+FIFO? |
I said:
... some UART chips - eg, the ones used in PCs - do have built-in FIFO buffers, but your average 8051 does not.
Your average 8051's UART handles just one character at a time ... http://www.8052.com/forum/read.phtml?id=100515 Just out of interest, does anyone know of any 8051-derivative that has a UART with FIFO(s)? I had a quick look at the databases both here and at Keil, but it's not on the standard, searchable feature list. This is purely out of curiosity - no actual application. (yes, it can be done in the programmable logic of a Triscend TE5 or Zylogic ZE5). |
