I've used the Maxim and it works fine but it's an expensive part.
One caveat, don't bit-bang the SPI to it if you have an old 12-clocker 8051. The overhead is so much that you might as well bit-bang the UART. If you have hardware SPI in your uC, or have a very fast uC, then you are OK to use it. GB |
