I gather you intend to build your own switchers. If you have the time to go through who knows how many PCB layouts, that is an excellent idea. I can design a switcher in 5 minutes, but it will take me (as it will most) weeks or months to get it noise and EMI free. I used to say "I know no engineer that can not design a switcher, and I know no engineer that can make one work". The layout of the PCB is 4711 times more important for a switcher than for an uC product. Do yourself a favor and buy the switching power supply ready made. Erik PS I write this under the assumption that you do not have years of switcher design/layout experience. |
