On the computer side you can use a Bluetooth USB adaptor. For your embedded application, you might want to check the Bluetooth RS232 module from Ezurio:

The module contains all the hardware (including the antenna) and firmware to make your application Bluetooth enabled. It also uses AT commands just like modems, which you can use to do the following:
- Pair the module (which is attached to your micro) to the USB adaptor (connected to the pc)
- Configure the module for auto re connect (the Bluetooth connection is created whenever the two devices are within the range)
- Configure the transmit power to vary the connection range.
Once the Bluetooth connection is created it is transparent. Your micro will treat it as if there was a cable connection.
