Agreed! Also you need to take more care while designing PCB for these type of crystals.
yes, but for the opposite reasons of using the internal oscillator. When using an external oscillator you will have a very strong clock signal that easily couple to other places. I have seen this a lot of times that people are hesitant(Lazy?!) about searching and reading the datasheets carefully though they have great tools available I second that motion Erik |
