#10607 - RE: Connecting LAN to ADSL (off-topic!) |
We have an identical system here at Ravenfield. The box with the ADSL on it runs a proxy server called Wingate (http://www.wingate.com) and a very tight firewall called ZoneAlarm. Our Mail server lives on another PC in the network and this is a bit trickier to set up, since the rest of the network expects sockets 110 and 25 to be available for mail
The proxy runs our DNS too. I can set the proxy up in about ten minutes now I have practised (and practiced) The only problem I have is I can't FTP ! Passive mode or not. except from the proxy server box (via VNC). Its probably a default gateway issue, but I can't seem to fix it. Steve |
