#107595 - At input of transformer Responding to: ???'s previous message |

should i connect the varistor at the 230vac supply or 12v ac supply(after step down) or may be both. I would only use it at input of transformer, if at all. In most cases the storage cap behind the rectifier is enough to supress voltage spikes on mains. But really important are the varistors at the relays! If here inductances come into play, then without the varistors you will get trouble. You should also use some filtering in your application. A simple RC or RLC filter in front of 5V regulator and RC filters with each relay can help a lot. Kai |
