#108531 - Confessions about ISP of s52
Hi all, in the process of building an ISP for s52, I found this by Mahmoodwas pretty useful, so I fabricated my own PCB.

I also downloaded PonyProg and IC Prog. To my bad luck, PonyProg doesnt support 89s52 currently, and IC Prog doesnt even read the signature byte of my 89s52, running at 5v, 12MHz.

But the same PCB (or my own STK200 dongle) does program ATmega8535 excellently, and the connections are also intact.

I have read in some post here that 89s chips dont have that much pulling capacities as AVRs, so I kept the ribbon connector to the minimum length(10cms, also some critical signals have two or more buffers in parallel), but still no success.

The circuit for Atmel's ISP programmer is fairly complex, so I opted the below.

This is the schematic of the circuit which I built:

Any thoughts?

Regards,
Vignesh
