My code actually compiles with no syntactical errors at this point. I have no functional implementation at this point that creates the effects mentioned in the original post. In the code, the functions set_output_on and set_output_off would be basically identical except differing in the timing control values time_on and time_off. Please disregard the function "output_timer".
