#110704 - HOW TO PROTECT SOFTWARE? Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Hello Friends!
I remember a methode to Code Protect a Project I did many many Years before. (about 16 Years ago) I protected a Eprom Code by using a PAL Device witch did the crypting for me. The Trick was the code in the Eprom was standart coded and after it worked fine Bytes in the Code were changed. For example FF > D3 ... and so one. PAL Devices even GAL Devices support a secure bit that protect that device from reading out the fusematrix. Sure today we have Logic Analysers that bring back the Crypting Methode of PAL or GAL Devices. But in the early Years of my Coding only Freaks have had those. The Programm worked fine again when it runed through that PAL Device. The Code in the Eprom was useless without the PAL Device. Maybe that old way might Inspirate you to create your owen Copy Protection. Have fun at that genius 8052.com webpage ! Cheers Stefan |
