I think a CR2 would be too large.
Those RFID tags that are sewn into clothing are smaller than a pinhead. Now, they draw power from the "reader," which generates a magnetic field compatible with artifacts on the chip, and there's a short antenna thread attached. I'm not convinced that I need that exact thing, but, what my application needs is an RF link, possibly combined with an MCU of some sort, that can produce its own identification code and a code indicating its status, when polled, via RF, AND that can produce the desired signals on command. On one hand, I want to BUY the RF transceiver. OTOH, I don't want to buy a bunch of stuff to do something I don't want to do. Aren't there some simple RF transceivers capable of a operating on a short range low-power link that one can buy rather than build? RE |
