If it's already keeping (most of) its stack in XDATA for the reentrancy
Then instead of spending "a week" copying the stack, it is spending "a day" for every call. Have you ever had a chance to look at a subroutine call "stacked" in XDATA? Why, Oh why, can no one see that the fact that something is possible does not make it right. If you have to play with a RTOS, stay away from the '51, it is singularily the worst choice (maybe with the exception of some PICs). If you have to play with a RTOS, use a processor with "unlimited" natural stack, not some software created artificial stack. I use the expression "play with a RTOS" because intending to use a RTOS on a '51 can have no other purpose. Erik |
