and do the port bits toggle ?

Yes I have tried this, and no the bits do not toggle. This is the problem I'm having.I can't get anything out of p6.

Its a bit low level, but what machine code is generated by the assembler when you try your code ?

hex file, LST file. Lst file has no errors.

What is the rest of your code ?

this is the test program I used:

p4 works but not p6.
