The '51 instructions set is el weirdo it won't allow you what you think is "logical".
you can cjne Rx,#data you can't cjne Rx,direct you can cjne A,#data you can cjne A,direct B is direct 0,1,2,3,..,7 is direct for R0, R1... unless you use banking (some asms support AR0, AR1... as absolute addresses for R0, R1...)
