guys for the last 4 days i'm trying to get the yj162a lcd working...but i don't seem to get anywhere..

when i power it i see a series of dark squares over only a part of the display that disappears after about 0.5 secs.

i'm interfacing it with 89c51 and no i don't have contrast problems.

could someone please suggest what could be possibly wrong with the display?

i've even initialized it to dispaly a blinking but to no avail.

HELP.
