The site that Derek mentioned in the previous message is a very useful tutorial. Very easy to read.
I agree with the author of that site, that most of the books on the topic (including the two I mentioned in a previous post) are not all that easy to read and are quite theoretical. The site Derek mentioned is very useful in that it actually provides code that you can test and play with rather than just talking about the topics from a theoretical standpoint. The examples are in Pascal, but they can be easily translated into 'C'. I like the author's idea of keeping the functions extremely small which makes it very easy to understand what he's doing.
