what i am trying to say is, for example this line:

P2=P2 | col_xlat[col];

Before the the keyscan part, the P2 has been initialized to 0xFF. Let's say now, it's putting the column 0 to 'low' which means "P2 = 1111 1111 OR 1110 0000 " (For col_xlat[0];)

the new P2 result is again 1111 1111. What is the point of the line then? Or maybe i was wrong and i hope that someone will point out where is my mistake :)
