hi there..

im doing a subject about microcontrollers at uni and ive become interested in playing around with them. i found an intel 8049 in an old dishwasher that broke and was wondering if it would be worth salvaging it. does anyone know anything about this chip? is the chip programmable or is it read only? if it can be reprogrammed, are there any utilities i may use to upload to it? i have basic knowledge of assember (better at c) and programming the motorola 68hc11.
