The problem is:
Flash of microcontroller and data flash were erased after some period of time, there are no other visible problems on the board. I`ve used similar configurations some times. As about MCU`s flash erase: you have been asked about reset circuit. AT89S8252 is very sensible for this matter. You may look at its errata and find some notes make you unhappy. For example, this one: Problem In revisions āSā and earlier of the AT89S8252 and AT89LS8252 devices, inadvertent writes to either the Flash program memory or the data EEPROM memory can occur. An inadvertent write is a possibility in the following two scenarios.bla-bla-bla As about DataFlashTM so I have found not "erase" but "latch-up" problems when the chip cannot be anymore accessed till next power-off and then -on cycle. Anyway the first step ypu should do is checking your hardware reset circuit and then try to eject all write/erase subroutines from the software; as it was already mentioned. Then report more details here. Regards, Oleg |
