I've found acouple of new asm examples that I tried to use, but I still have the problem of 'read error' when reading from the DS1307. The read error comes in burstes and block out the chip something like 30%. The wire length from CPU is 25-30 cm, I'm using 10k pull-up on both SDA and SCL (P1.6+P1.7). It's runnging on an 8031 at 12MHz. The strange thing is that I don't have ANY problem reading/writeing to an 24C16 on the same I2C bus located next to the DS1307 chip. I have two DS 1307 chip and the both react the same way.
