using a 'programmable reference' will add the tolerance of the external resistors to the 'error budget' The market is flooded with 2.55 references, for which the only tolerance to be concerned with is that of the reference.

Eugene, you are mistaken wanting a 3.56V reference, you forgot zero. You need a 2,55V = 0xff
