Oh...I just found my 8080 / 8085 book I purchase from my old university in 1986!
Called "8080/8085 Assembly Language subroutines" ISBN 0-931988-58-6 by Lance A. Leventhal I just had a quick squize at the instruction set... the mnemonics and instruction set commands, micro core and operation are very different to the 80c51. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assembly_language). Suggest you seek examples of tone generation on the 80c51... directly.
