Hi Martin,
You can certainly handle more if the device is only dissipating for half a cycle, but it won't double the handling. Power dissipated = Ic x Vce There isn't really a standard dissipation its going to depend on your package. I call a TO3 canned transistor "normal" and it can handle in excess of 150 Watts. Steve |
