Even for identically numbered flash mermories, there are differences. I use the SST39VG1882 solely because of the shorter (by tow orders of magnitude) erase time. give a link to the datasheet for your flash manufacturers website not some stupid datsheet collection website, and, if similar to what i use maybe I can take a look at your code.
