Please believe us that you are not on the right track. Besides what has been said in the first thread you started, the AT89S8253 particularly is a problematic chip. It had fatal bugs in the earlier revisions (there are erratas for them on the Atmel website) and a lot of people - skilled '51 programmers - reported that they have serious problems with them. You never know what revision you get if you buy them in small volume locally. Get an AT89C51RD2 or AT89C51ED2 or P89V51RD2 and you will forget any programming problem. Jan Waclawek |
