#13198 - RE: Centronics Interface
Thanks Richard,

I have already done a fairly extensive search on the net for the information I'm after, I have tonnes of stuff on the parallel port on my computer anyway. Like I said before, the info I've got is a little vague (or fague as I wrote it before for some strange reason, as Steve pointed out!) in certain areas.

I have used the parallel port for many MANY interface applications before, and almost know the pin-outs off by heart! It's just a few specific things I'm unsure about, and seeing as this application must behave exactly like a 'standard' printer on the port (because it's a printer!), I want to know everything!!!

I've already had Steve moaning at me about not using the search engine on the site before I posted this thread. I have since done so, and it yielded nothing relevant to what I want to know. Also, before Craig closes this thread for 'not being 8052 relevant', it is indirectly, as it is an 8052 that will be doing all the work in the printer. If we don't have application specific threads on this site from time-to-time, I fear all we're going to end up with is closed student threads, people complaining either about other peoples' spelling, or the fact that someone has posted a thread asking the same question as somebody else once asked back in 1997, or BORING 'I've got issues with my compiler' questions.

There, I've got it out of my system, and now I can have a relaxing weekend!

Matt.
