Continuing the "usability of Linux" thread in a more on-topic tone, there appear to be a couple of users here who actively work in Linux.
Thanks to them, the number of development tools for Linux increases. Some hints and links can be found in the User Pages of Ian Bell, Matthias Arndt, and, of course :-) , Jeff Post's d52 comes Linux-ready, too.

Today, I noticed a new page by Tom Izett, containing AT89Sxxx programming software for Linux.
