Yes - as far as the 8051 is concerned, it's just another peripheral. But note Russ's suggestion of possibly simplifying things by using an external Quad UART. Also, you need to consider the volume of data, and how much processing it needs - if it's high-speed and/or high-volume and/or needs a lot of processing, you need to be sure that the 8051 can cope... |
