#134543 - Battery Life
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Battery Life in milliamp hours is usually specified at C/5. in this case 1700/5 = 340ma. At lower rates the battery provides more mAhrs, at hight rates less. If you are using a switching regulator the calculations are different. The device draws more current as the voltage falls. In this case the watt hour rating is what you need.
Be sure to include low voltage shutdown for the battery. They do not like to be broght to 0 volts.
Remember to add capacity for wear. Batteries lose a little capacity with each charge/ discharge cycle. Adding 20% seems to be typical.
