#135804 - Can't use the busy flag during initialization Responding to: ???'s previous message |
As applies to the HD44780 LCD controller IC and its scions, the obvious gotcha with LCD's is that, while using the busy flag is really helpful during normal operation, the initialization must be carefully timed out in open-loop mode. The specified times are quite long, and and are minima, but not critical in their length. One can enter them manually from a keypad by means of a monitor and still not be too slow.
The first LCD initialization command, BTW, has to be entered twice. RE |
