It is even possible to use the inputs in another order as the numbering in the pin-out, as long as you do the same with the outputs. These chips consist of 8 of the same latches, the numbering is only to know which output belongs to which input. Sometimes a 'renumbering' of the latches will make it easier to develop your board.
373 as well as 573 are available in HC and HCT versions.
