Hi All out there !

I know that this might be not suitable place for posting this query but since,
this matter is directly concerned with the 89C51 microcontroller interfacing I
hope I will get surly some hint on this matter this goes like this...
I am in the design of the Bar-code swipe card unit & it will be a stand
alone unit with RS232 interface to PC & Ethernet
module also which is optional I/F. But I am getting lots of difficulties
in design of the Bar-code Sensor unit to sense the Bar-code pattern
on the swipe card and send the scanned Bar-code data to the uc Unit.
Here I have a doubt that the Bar-code data to the uc should be in
the decoded form ,for e.g. using any decoder chip or the software can be
written in the uc unit to decode the PWM data available from the
bar-code sensor unit ,which one will be easier & faster in operation &
implementation.
Can any one out there advice or help me about this matter or guide me
for
any web addr. for the more exploration & constructing my own Bar-code
sensing unit I will be thankful.
