my project is an energy meter using ADE7756 interfaced with 89c51
and 89c51 interfaced to an lcd(16*2) and max232 for displaying energy meter reading on pc using visual basic

89c51 connection to ade7756

P1.0 - Data IN of ADE7756 (20)
P1.2 - Data OUT of ADE7756(19)
P1.3 - SCLK of ADE7756()
P1.4 - CS Out of ADE7756

the spi interface b/w ade7756 and 89c51 is working cause i`m gettin a value from the aenergy(02h) register by sending the address via spi interface

However aenergy only gives a fixed energy reading i guess the energy reading is not gettin updated.

i have attached ct(current transformer) 5a:50ma with load 60w bulb and pt(potential transformer) 250v:9v to the respective current and voltage inputs of ade7756

i tried the calibrate mode by setting the cmode(7 bit)as 1 in mode register(06h) and writing 800h to apgain register for minimum output range but still get the same reading.

i have transmitted the reading obtained and displayed it on pc using visual basic (max232 serial comm) com1 port and i converted
it to ascii and displayed the same , it doesnt get updated.

i`m unable to figure out where i`m going wrong . . . !
i can mail u the circuit diagram and the code for the same
plz guide me...!!!
