I remember someone mentioning an excellent book for learning different protocols. I tried to search the message forum but couldn't seem to find it.

I would like to learn several different types and there different usefullness. I am especially interested in learning any type that communicates over a RS232/485, and possibly TCP/IP ect.

I am no where close to being an expert so I need a book that kind of walks you thru it.

I dont want to order the book online and find out its not what I need.
Sometimes it seems like the author writes his own reviews at Amazon.com.

Any good suggestions would help.
