#137267 - RFID and Barcodes Responding to: ???'s previous message |
In one of the articles Jan cites.... they mentioned Airport RFID tags and shopping style tags that could be hacked - attacked... These are the typical EPC Global 900MHz tags that are 128bits of data.
Yes.. some could write their own RFID tag and stick it on luggage to confuse an Airport luggage system.... but much easier would be to print out a bar code and stick it on luggage to confuse a luggage system. Both RFID and Barcode systems could cause equal kaos. Some could write bad data on a magnetic strip of a credit card and cause banking system issues... Oh wait many people have hacked banks before... without RFID systems. Hence the virus and hack-attack issues are not just RFID technology issues but system level security data issues. Joe |
