I thought this is just being ethical. You start a new thread to get response. If it answers your question and solves your problem, please say so. If you are still not satisfied, others who follow your message thread will get the chance to help you.

There was a suggestion before that whenever a message thread received a new reply, it should be brought to the front as current. I think this is relevant and must be seriously considered.
