No, that's not correct.
You can use an 8-bit converter - you will just get 300/256 = 1.2oC per bit! You can even use an 8-bit converter and get more than 8 bits of resolution through downsampling. Temperature usually is a very "slow" parameter and therefore lends itself very well for this. |
