As Andy suggests in the other ultrasonic thread, http://www.senscomp.com now supply the Polaroid ultrasonic system - takes three wires (or it did 22 years ago when I last used it in person), one to say "start", one to listen for "started" and one to listen for "finished" - time between "started" and "finished" = range.
