I built simple power supply and use 7805 regulator to stabilized it.I think the supply is enough (just only 1 mcu & several ttl ics).
the wires from supply to mcu is about 20 cm, I'm not sure about the diameter, but it look like the cable used to connect the harddisk to mainboard in pc.could you give me more detail to put some smoothing capacitor?

do all the ports need pull-up resistor?
(I use pull-up resistor for port 0 only)
