Like Jan, my first thought was also "no way". But apparently it's quite possible if you can keep the requirements within reason. Just as an example, you could easily distinguish the word "but" from "underhandedness" based on length alone. So if you need only four robot commands, and you get to pick the words, it may not be as difficult as it seems at first.
As usual, Google knows all. This link, while not very informative, was especially encouraging. -- Russ PS: The other thing I have to keep reminding myself is that we're not dealing with 10 Mhz, 12-clockers any more. You can get a lot of computing done really fast if you crank up your C8051F120 to 100 MHz, especially if you take the time to figure out its MAC (multiply and accumulate) hardware. |
