#13958 - RE: An OOPic as a programmer - possible? |
Sorry, I guess I should have been clearer.
An OOPic is a custom PIC chip running at 20Mhz, it has 32 I/O lines, it can control servos on any line, it has a H/W PWM build in, a serial port and a I2C connection, you can chain up to 127 of them together, you program it using a serial cable, with Java or VB (well, that style anyway) you can also control They are only £40 and I find them fantastic for prototyping, I bought two for my original Robot, but they just don't have the power I need. They can have up to 32K of serial EEPROM, so it can store the program I need, then program them via a simple circuit board. have a look :- www.oopic.com Peter, I've seen you board, but it looks like a chicken and an egg scenario for me, I don't have the ability, or know anyone who can program the chips for me. Without that I can't really build the board. I did find in EDN magazine a simple one using the parallel port of a PC, but the diagram was a very compressed GIF file, which I can see properly.
