What he's saying is his input signal is a sine wave 2 volts to either side of relative zero, in other words, 4 volts peak-to-peak. If he's referenced it to GND, you're quite right, but if he's AC-coupled the input signal as one might be inclined to do, or referenced it to to the differential inputs, he might "get by" with that. DC-coupled, the analog input signal must lie between Vcc + 0.05 volts and GND-0.05 volts.
As always, the devil's in the details, and the O/P's not provided much detail. RE |
