#140220 - Horses for courses Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Bob Robertson said: My problem is that serial data from my micro must pass through a network adaptor which ... was designed primarily to listen to J1850 traffic, and to inject occasional messages into it. For this task, it works well. However, when I use it to inject messages at a faster rate, it sometimes forgets to append protocol headers... Jerson Fernandes said:
Perhaps making a new adaptor that will handle your faster data rate is what you need to evaluate Absolutely! Bob says the adaptor is designed for a specific task, and works well in that task. He is now using it in an application for which it was not designed - so it should come as no surprise that it doesn't work in that application. You could try working around this "deficiency", only to find that your workaround then reveals some other "deficiency", etc, etc,... I think you really need to find an adaptor that is specifically designed for the task at hand... |
