#14097 - RE: Flash and EEPROM |
From an applications standpoint, a Flash device is typically less expensive for the same density and data within a Flash is erased as a sector or in bulk. Bulk erase means erasing the entire device.
Most EEPROM devices can be written and re-written at the byte level. A baasic EEPROM memory cell is significantly larger than a Flash memory cell and consequently EEPROM is more expensive than Flash. Likewise, Flash devices are denser than EEPROM devices. |
