Hi!
A few years ago I have built vibration measuring device using CCD camera chip. It was chip with built-in CCD line (not array but LINE) and the shadow has been taken from the line and it has changed into time interval. I have used this signal to open the AND gate output - on the second AND gate's input I have put clock signal. PC computer has counted the clock pulses and has been displaying the results of measuring. I have no idea how to use piezoelectric device but I guess you have to built device working like sample voltmeter. So you have to use sample chip and fast A/D converter. I think there is a lot of manufacturers but I have been using Analog Device's chips. I don't know if you can use 8052 chip. It depend on your sample rate. In the past we have built our sample voltmeter using 8049 micro. I don't remember its parameters but we reach sample rate about 40..50kHz. I don't know your requirments but at this moment you can buy A/D card for your PC computer and design your own application using high level languages like "C Builder", "Delphi", any others.
