If you select the wrong device (H vs non-H) in FM you screw up the bootvector I have been told. Erik I am not aware that this would be a problem - the 'H' and "non-H" are actually programmed in a very very similar manner. But, there IS a similar problem - i you have the V51Rx2 and select the C51RD2 in FM, it might end up in the SoftICE mode, which due to flaw of the default bootloader cannot be exited (otherwise than using a cludge); and looks exactly like if it would be a bootvector corruption - even if there is no bootvector in the 'V'.
