The answer is big endian, the MSB is stored in the lowest address.
I can understand the confusion for Intel made quite a mess out of the 8051 in this respect. To further confuse the issue, the x86 family is all little-endian, so some people talk of little-endian as "Intel format" - as opposed to "Motorola Format," meaning big-endian! |
