The DS89C4x0 has a built-in bootloader (a program in ROM), which enables to program it via UART, after the bootloader was run (this happens if you reset the chip while holding certain pins at certain logic levels). The only outstanding issue is, where would you store the to-be-burned image... The bootloader invocation method and the protocol is described in the datasheet of DS89C4x0, which can be found easily on the corresponding Dallas' website. JW PS.
