Agreed. Explicitness is a good thing.


And funny, there was a thread here a couple of weeks ago where I advocated just such explicitness and there was a counter-argument that "the programmer should know the order of operations."

I agree that the programmer [i]should[/i] know what the compiler will do, but there's nothing wrong with being explicit about it, as it improves human readability.
