Try shorting the Tx/Rx pins on the D9 COM connector on your PC (or on the end of the cable) and see how fast it "echoes". AFAIK, the echo is instantaneous, i.e. immediately after the character is received it is transmitted back. The difference between this and the "short" is exactly 1 character duration. JW |
